WHU MEMORYS

It's hammer time 2006

Me and the lads, Jason Codrai and his Boy's + brother Scott all crammed in to my little Nissan Micra, we were all geared up to play against the mighty Liverpool FC. Music was pumping from the car stereo, as we drove across the motorway heading for Cardiff city's millennium stadium, we arrived early so we could get a good parking spot and lap up the atmosphere, around us. Seeing both deep red and claret and blue shirts walking around the city centre, you could feel the passion bubbling up, we believe in our team west ham, could shock the might of Liverpool, a sense of David vs Goliath battle ready to commence, and we were going to witness it. All fans seem to believe in their team, even if it is virtually impossible, that they, yes they, will be the team to beat the favorites, the team that shuts up the pundits, and papers that give their team, a cat in hells chance of over coming the might of a team rich in history, for winning trophy's, each and every year, but that to me is what football is all about, believing is seeing, and god did we watch a real game that day, but we will talk about that in a while, me and the lads, plotted up at Sam's bar, where most of the hammer fans had decided to loiter on the day, the notorious bill Gardner had arrived, bringing a army of friends with him, he unwrapped a giant claret and blue flag, and draped it from one tree to another, and hammers fans took photo's after photo's of each other in front of the flag of hope and glory, thats what it meant to us the hammers fans, that's what it symbolised. our hope and hopefully our glory !!!
